David Rotenberg serves as Executive Vice President and Chief Clinical Officer for Caron Treatment Centers, directing Caron’s clinical, medical, and psychological services. In addition to this role, Dave is currently sharing the duties of the Office of Caron’s Chief Executive Officer with COO Kris Bashore.

Dave began his tenure at Caron in 1996 and embodies the spirit of Caron’s founders, Dick and Catherine Caron, dedicating himself to providing substance use disorder and mental health treatment to all those who need it. Dave is recognized throughout the treatment sector as an expert in treating co-occurring mental health disorders, relapse and family issues, as well as innovative approaches to the intervention and treatment of teens and young adults.

Dave’s knowledge of the treatment field is key to Caron’s ongoing excellence in clinical care. Specifically, Dave has been instrumental in developing Caron’s outcomes-based, patient-centric programming. He has been the key architect of several programs on the Caron Pennsylvania campus, including: the Older Adult Program, the Legal Professionals track and the Executive Program, as well as the recent launch of Caron’s residential programming at The Keele Center in Florida.

Dave holds a Master of Arts in psychology from Marywood University and a Master of Business Administration in healthcare administration from Alvernia University. He has been a certified addiction counselor since 1996. Dave is a past recipient of the Council on Chemical Abuse Berks County Drug and Alcohol Professional of the Year Award. He is also a past recipient of the Pennsylvania Certification Board’s Addiction Professional of the Year Award.
