Treatment at Caron Renaissance
Four principles make up the Renaissance model of care to create a foundation for you to move into a healthy recovery with healthy relationships, a sense of independence, and achievable life goals.
1. Transformational neurorestorative care: Our treatment teams integrate advanced technologies targeting the brain alongside evidence-based, trauma-informed therapy modalities to rewire the brain and optimize function, laying the groundwork for self-regulation and resilience.

Program Components
- Medical detoxification services, if needed, at Caron Florida’s state-of-the-art medical center
- Intensive individual and family therapy tailored to address underlying issues that may block your recovery
- Evidence-based therapies, including cognitive processing therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy informed treatment, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing, and integrative trauma treatment
- Group therapy to address key issues in a supportive peer environment
- Specialty groups to address issues such as anxiety, relapse, and depression, among others
- LGBTQIA+ affirming services offered through an off-site 12-Step meeting
- Medication-assisted treatment (MAT) as clinically appropriate, overseen by full-time medical staff
Wellness and Recovery-Focused Services
- Access to a nearby fitness center
- Holistic therapies, like mindfulness meditation and yoga
- Spiritual counseling and groups, grief and loss group, and experiential groups and practices
- Adventure therapy, with activities like kayaking, hiking, and rope courses, to build trust, learn how to have fun in recovery and challenge yourself, and foster effective relationships with others
- Consultations with a registered dietitian, as clinically appropriate
- Medical services and amenities at the state-of-the-art Keele Center
College and Career Support
College Success Program Key Components
- Comprehensive academic and career assessments to identify your strengths, interests, and long-term aspirations, ensuring your chosen academic path aligns with personal goals and recovery needs
- Guidance through every step of the college application process
- Ongoing academic monitoring to ensure you stay on track
Career Success Program Key Components
- Career coaching focused on your life experiences, skills, and goals
- Skill-building workshops on leadership, communication, time management, and negotiation
- Comprehensive career assessments to evaluate your strengths, career preferences, and long-term goals
Life Skills Training
- Vocational support services to set goals, create a resume, and practice interviewing skills
- Gender-specific apartment housing with shared bedrooms and bathrooms in a complex that includes a pool
- Outfitted kitchens with cookware, dishes, utensils, and cleaning materials, and access to washers and dryers to encourage independence and responsibility
- Transportation to and from treatment programming location
- On-site recovery advocates 24 hours a day/seven days a week
Family Programs
Family programming is tailored for you and your family, using these core elements:
- Psychosocial assessments of family systems to inform a customized family treatment plans
- Family therapy, supported by a dedicated family therapist with extensive experience in family systems treatment
- The Residential Family Program to reset your relationship with a primary loved one and strengthen family bonds
- Family Workshop, a three-day program of individual and family therapy
- Clinical impact visits, as clinically appropriate, with family members, professional colleagues, or friends to participate in groups and/or family sessions
- An alumnus “buddy” who provides friendship and guidance
during and following treatment
Services for families provide support and information about substance use before, during a loved one’s treatment, or after, ranging from podcasts, videos, and an online course to events and support groups.
Who We Treat
If you are struggling with one or more of these, the Renaissance Program can help:
- Primary substance use disorder and co-occurring conditions, such as depression, anxiety, body image problems, sexual issues, or gambling concerns, among others
- Ongoing problems at work or school and in relationships due to substance use
- Difficulty in achieving the milestones of adulthood
- Complex and challenging family/relationship dynamics
- Difficulty with life skills, like keeping a clean living space, budgeting, and healthy eating
The Renaissance Professionals Track offers Renaissance’s renowned intensive treatment to patients who are successfully building their careers or progressing toward graduate or doctoral degrees. The Track is designed to maintain intensive treatment while allowing them to attend to professional and academic obligations, as clinically appropriate.
Continuing Care
In consultation with the patient and family, the clinical team creates a continuing care plan that includes Caron programs and services as needed:
- An active and welcoming alumni community
- Recovery services, including My Recovery Connection and virtual support groups (Requires an additional cost)
