Assessment

Our interdisciplinary team of addiction medicine physicians, psychologists, and certified addiction counselors conducts a coordinated series of evaluations and evidence-based assessments, including:

Preadmission toxicology studies
Comprehensive medical and addiction assessments by board-certified physicians
Psychological evaluation, including diagnostic interview, cognitive assessment, and personality testing
Psychosocial assessment by clinical staff
Gathering and review of collateral information from multiple sources
Opportunities for engagement in therapeutic programming, including groups and meetings specifically designed for healthcare professionals

Caron offers healthcare professionals a unique opportunity to experience treatment by participating in our Healthcare Professionals Program while undergoing assessment. This also provides our clinical staff with a chance to get to know you in that context, allowing for a
more accurate and thorough assessment of your needs.

A typical assessment for healthcare professionals runs five days, but length may vary depending on what is needed.

This coordinated, in-depth assessment creates a complete diagnostic picture so that the clinical assessment team can review and discuss findings and recommendations with you. With recovery as the goal, you and the assessment team can determine your best next steps, develop a treatment plan, and, ultimately, create a path for safely returning to work.
