Education While in Treatment

It’s important for teens to stay up-to-date with their education, even while they’re in treatment.

Through Caron’s High School Success Program in Pennsylvania, teen patients will be able to stay on track with their education through comprehensive support services. This includes daily time in Caron’s classroom, which is staffed by a full-time teacher and support team, high school course enrollment, and optional academic coaching and college prep.

Caron’s College Success® Programming is an optional part of residential treatment at our Pennsylvania campus, at an additional cost. Young adults can elect to enroll in recovery-informed academic coaching/advising to meet the unique needs of each of our college-aged patients. College Success staff will work with young adults to support, define and meet their academic goals while ensuring that their recovery goals are being met.

Academic support services extend well beyond treatment in Pennsylvania. Post-discharge there are several types of services that are available to teens and young adults based on their unique needs:

  • Continued enrollment in recovery-informed academic coaching/advising that began during treatment, or one can choose to enroll for the first time
  • Attendance in a collegiate recovery program at a local university near Caron’s Pennsylvania campus, which offers more individualized academic recovery services
  • Participation in Caron’s My First Year of Recovery, which is a private, interactive post-treatment support and monitoring program that supports students in achieving and sustaining a healthy, sober lifestyle, with continued academic support.
