Christina Hiester

Christina Hiester is a Behavioral Health Therapist in the Men’s Program, a position she has had since 2020. Using strength-based approaches, like motivational interviewing, Christina provides individual therapy, facilitates group therapy, and supports families.

Her goal is to build her patients’ insight and self-awareness so they understand their strengths and core values, instilling hope and building a foundation for a healthy recovery.

Christina came to Caron as an intern in 2019, after interning both at inpatient treatment centers and in private practices where she had gained experience working with children, adolescents, and adults. While getting her education, Christina worked in customer service, a job that taught her the value of patience and the importance of empathy.

She is a nationally certified counselor with a Master of Arts in clinical mental health counseling from Messiah University. Her Bachelor of Arts is in applied psychology from Pennsylvania State University.

The most important aspect of the work I do is helping families learn how to communicate in healthy ways and giving patients the support they need to take responsibility for their recovery. It all comes down to listening.”
