Caron Treatment Centers and Decipher Investigative Intelligence Offer Accreditation Program on Substance Use Disorder and Enhancing Wellness in the Legal Profession
First of its kind all day training will educate professionals about overcoming the stigma of addiction and improving access to treatment
Wernersville, P.A. (May 5, 2022) – Caron Treatment Centers, an internationally recognized nonprofit organization dedicated to addiction and behavioral healthcare treatment, research, prevention, and addiction medicine education announced that Caron’s Legal Professionals Program in partnership with Decipher Investigative Intelligence will offer a free one-day CLE accreditation program for legal professionals. The first session will take place from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. on May 3, 2022 in the Philadelphia offices of Morgan Lewis.
“Rates of alcohol consumption, online gambling, and other mental health concerns are skyrocketing and have increased dramatically since the onset of the pandemic,” said Eric Webber, Program Director for Caron’s Legal Professionals Program and Senior Clinician for Specialty Services, who will co-present with Corey B. Rabin Esq., JD, Clinical Advisor to the Legal Professionals Program. “Law firms want to learn how to recognize these behaviors and get in front of them before they become a significant liability.”
Steven R. Wall, Managing Partner at Morgan Lewis said this program comes at a time when the legal industry continues to face significant wellness challenges arising from many interrelated factors.
“The continuing stigma associated with mental health challenges leads many to avoid confronting the addiction and addiction-driven behavior they see in their colleagues,” says Wall. “Our industry needs such education and awareness, and I am very grateful to Caron and Decipher for joining forces to lead the way.”
Decipher Investigative Intelligence, which provides pre-hire due diligence on lateral attorneys often discovers addiction and risky behaviors during its research for its law firm clients.
“We see the impact that these risky behaviors have on lawyers and their firms. Our hope is that law firm leadership will participate in this program to support their partners in a path to recovery,” says Decipher Founder & CEO Michael Ellenhorn. “This is also our way of supporting the legal profession and giving back by helping to improve overall lawyer well-being.”
