Cultural influences like Fifty Shades of Grey and dating apps have fueled a surge in sex and love addiction, particularly among those in early recovery who seek to fill the void left by other addictions with romance. This often leads to addictive behaviors such as casual sex, affairs, and pornography, crossing demographic boundaries and often resulting in co-dependency. Early intervention is crucial as individuals grapple with emotional turmoil triggered by relationship issues, moving from choice to powerlessness. By promoting self-love and healthy relationships, interventions can reduce relapse risks and foster genuine intimacy. This presentation provides tools for recognizing and addressing sex and love addiction, aiming to prevent relapse and promote recovery.
