A Leading Provider of Cutting-Edge Care

Since our inception, Caron has been providing cutting-edge addiction treatment and behavioral healthcare services. Our clinical staff is highly credentialed; our facilities are impeccable; and our use of technology is gaining significant ground—providing patients and families with a unique, customized, and interactive treatment experience. We’ve implemented some innovative systems that will help make your stay at Caron more productive and your aftercare more effective.

Technology During Treatment: Passport

Passport is a custom-developed, interactive mobile and web app adorned with Caron’s nationally recognized therapeutic protocols. Using an internet-connected tablet and unique applications, Passport gives addiction counselors and multi-disciplinary treatment teams the opportunity to tailor each patient’s content, schedule and responses to his or her needs. Passport allows for:

  • Increased interaction between patients and their entire multi-disciplinary treatment team through completing assignments, creating comments and messaging, collaborating on documents, and clinical journaling. Passport allows for asynchronous communication between patient and treatment team. This allows the team to monitor patient progress and maintain administrative approvals online throughout the week, making for much richer and more therapeutic weekly individual therapy sessions.
  • Engagement in treatment work and assignments. Patients have access to a deep library of addiction education resources, such as: video lecture summaries, audio recordings, exercises and demonstrations, treatment-related documents, interactive worksheets, journals, and much more.
  • Patients to keep up with their schedule. Daily activities are stored in Passport, including medical, spiritual and clinical appointments and medication times
  • A convenient e-folder of patients’ agreements, releases and medical results.
  • Perpetual aftercare social support. Patients are invited to join alumni and aftercare support groups on the same network as Passport after discharge.

Technology During Treatment: Telemedicine

Telemed
Telemedicine at Caron Renaissance in Florida

As a leader in telemedicine services, we use real-time video to enhance clinician-to-clinician and patient-to-practitioner communication. Telemedicine is an emerging practice that is widely regarded as an effective and valuable tool for alcohol and drug rehab. With the use of telemedicine, Caron staff members can confer and consult with other experts in their fields, ensuring the best treatment plan for each patient.

Across all Caron programs and locations, we use HIPAA-compliant telemedicine and teleconferencing services in a variety of ways:

  • our admissions departments meet with referents and potential patients and their families prior to entering treatment
  • clinical staff members consult with other members of the treatment team, as well as a patient’s referring doctor(s) during treatment
  • patients have immediate contact with medical staff when needed

Technology During Treatment: Neurofeedback Therapy

It’s common for those suffering from drug and alcohol problems to also struggle with underlying issues such as depression, anxiety, insomnia and trauma. These co-occurring disorders often trigger relapses for patients in recovery or prompt current patients to leave treatment prematurely.

With the use of Neurofeedback Therapy as part of an integrative model, Caron can identify and treat co-occurring disorders—helping those in recovery better manage moods and emotions, deal with anxiety, and reduce their levels of general distress and discomfort. In turn, this helps patients focus on learning healthy behaviors and develop skills for relapse prevention.

Technology After Treatment: My First Year of Recovery

Our commitment to using the best, most successful means at our disposal to help you recover from substance abuse doesn’t end when you leave Caron. After a patient rehabilitates onsite, individuals and families have the opportunity to enroll in the My First Year of Recovery program. Just as with Passport, we’ve based this program on the latest technology, so our alumni can make the most of all the resources available to them.

The My First Year of Recovery program is a private, online social platform personalized for recent patients and their families. Enrollees are given a personalized post-treatment interactive roadmap designed by clinical staff to help navigate the challenges of maintaining sobriety in early recovery.

The secure platform offers:

  • Interactive recovery care support
  • Randomized drug and alcohol Screens
  • Access to a comprehensive addiction recovery resource library
  • Anonymous peer communities for social support
