As Executive Director of Encore Outpatient Services, based in Northern Virginia, Martha Rackets oversees administrative and clinical operations, a role she took on in March 2021.
Martha brings more than a decade of experience in behavioral health across multiple populations and levels of care as a clinician, director, and executive.
She has experience managing all facets of treatment operations, including policy and procedures, compliance, outreach and marketing, and human resources. As a clinician, Martha has experience with various client populations and levels of care, including individuals, couples, families, group therapy, psychoeducation, and teaching. She has extensive experience and training in working with couples and families, specifically in treating addiction and trauma.
Since 2014, Martha has served as a board member on the Commonwealth of Virginia Board of Health Professions, which is responsible for advising the governor and General Assembly on matters of healthcare regulation. She has authored multiple articles in peer-reviewed journals and presented at numerous national conferences.
Martha holds a Doctor of Philosophy in family science and a Master of Science in marriage and family therapy from the University of Kentucky, in addition to dual Bachelor of Science degrees in human development and sociology from Virginia Tech. She is a licensed marriage and family therapist in Virginia and Maryland, a board-approved supervisor, and a Clinical Fellow through the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT). She also has graduate certificates in applied statistics and leadership skills from the University of Kentucky and is pursuing an advanced certificate in leadership from AAMFT.
