Julia Loytsker, Psy.D. is a Staff Psychologist working with Relapse patients. She is a clinical psychologist, licensed in Pennsylvania. Dr. Loytsker earned her Doctorate of Psychology from Widener University, where she was trained in the psychoanalytic model of psychotherapy.

She has received additional training in evidence-based techniques including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT). Her approach to treatment comes from both psychodynamic and evidence-based perspectives. Dr. Loytsker’s pre-doctoral and post-doctoral internships were completed in settings offering treatment for addiction and co-occurring disorders. Her pre-doctoral internship focused on addiction issues, specifically alpha-theta neurofeedback for treatment of co-occurring disorders.

Prior to joining Caron, Dr. Loytsker lived and worked in rural Alaska for two and a half years, providing psychological services to the underserved Native Alaskan population as part of the National Health Service Corps. While there, she worked as part of the Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders Diagnostic Team. Since then, Dr. Loytsker has provided numerous trainings throughout Pennsylvania, to Medical and Clinical professionals as well as to parents and caregivers, on Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder diagnosis and treatment.

At Caron, Dr. Loytsker provides clinical supervision to psychologists and provides clinical services, including assessment and psychotherapy, on the adult continuum. Areas of expertise and interest include treating co-occurring disorders in a chronic relapse population, with specific interest in anxiety disorders. Dr. Loytsker has developed and provided training to Caron staff on personality disorders.
