Beth Millar
MA, NCC
Breakthrough, Pennsylvania
As an Associate Breakthrough Therapist, Beth Millar guides Breakthrough clients in processing the experiential work they participated in during the day, offering them a safe space to decompress. During evening groups, she helps them better understand this new information and learn to incorporate it into their relationships and daily lives.
Beth’s work is driven by the power of transformation in her own life, and she is deeply gratified to see transformation as it happens with Breakthrough clients.
Prior to taking on this role in 2023, Beth was a graduate intern at Caron working in the Breakthrough Program and the Healthcare Professionals Program. For two years before that, she was a behavioral health technician in the Healthcare Professionals Program, assisting clinical staff with programming, providing patient support, and facilitating 12-Step meetings.
Before coming to Caron, Beth was a residential manager and counselor at a sober living facility for five years. She performed intakes and discharges, coordinated detox admittance for clients during relapse, and facilitated weekly groups on mental health/recovery-based topics.
She also had a sales career for 15 years, which strengthened and honed her ability to listen, empathize, and build trust with clients.
Beth is a national certified counselor with a Master of Arts in clinical mental health counseling from Messiah University, Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. She has a Bachelor of Arts in communications from Lebanon Valley College, Annville, Pennsylvania.
