Anna Green

Anna Green is the Family Therapist for the Caron Florida Mental Health Program. She works with patients and their families to ensure both parties have the support they need to succeed.

Her primary focus is on providing family members with support and education through family sessions, joint sessions with the patient, and routine phone calls. Anna gives families the tools and information they need to support their loved one through their mental health struggles. She also facilitates psychoeducational, skills, and exploratory therapy groups for patients.

Before coming to Caron in 2022, Anna was a residential therapist at an addiction treatment center in Northern California. She has more than seven years of experience as a psychotherapist in the education, addiction, palliative care, and mental health fields. Originally from the United Kingdom, Anna is trained in mentalization-based treatment (MBT) and art therapy. Before moving to the United States, she worked in an adult mental health inpatient hospital with patients diagnosed with psychotic disorders or borderline personality disorder.

Anna has a Master of Arts in art therapy from the University of Hertfordshire, United Kingdom, and a Bachelor of Arts in fine art from Nottingham Trent University, United Kingdom. She is a qualified MBT practitioner trained at the Anna Freud National Center for Children and Families, United Kingdom. Anna also wrote a chapter, “Group and individual art therapy with a sexually inappropriate patient in an NHS low-secure unit,” for Arts Therapies and Sexual Offending, a book published in the United Kingdom in 2021.
