Allison Steiner

As Director of Neurocognitive Services, Allison Steiner works one-on-one with clients and with the clinical and medical departments to create a neurofeedback treatment plan that is appropriate for the client’s needs.

“It’s been fascinating to dive deeply into how the brain works and how stress affects it. The brain is one of medicine’s final frontiers and we are using the most up-to-date knowledge to help people here at Caron.”

She loves her job because she gets to see the positive change the treatment can make in measuring progress and addressing the underlying issues that may fuel the addictive process. “Working individually with patients also means I connect personally to each of them and can see the changes that take place.”

She began working at Caron as a neurofeedback technician in 2014 and became the program coordinator in 2015. As one of the first employees in the program, Allison helped to build the Alpha-Stim program and set up the neurofeedback laboratory.

Allison earned her Master’s degree in social work from Case Western Reserve University and her Bachelor of Science degree from Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, New York. She is currently enrolled at George Washington University for her master’s in public health.
