Join us for the inaugural Common Ground Speaker Event featuring Kim Porter, CFRS, Co-Founder and Executive Director of Be a Part of the Conversation. Drawing from both her professional expertise and personal experience as the parent of a loved one in long-term recovery, Kim will present Family Journey to Recovery and Connection, an inspiring discussion about the impact of addiction on families, the power of connection, and the path toward healing and recovery. Attendees will gain valuable insight into how families can navigate the recovery process while strengthening relationships, fostering hope, and building supportive communities.

Kim is the Co-Founder and Executive Director of the Be a Part of the Conversation, a nonprofit organization in southeastern Pennsylvania dedicated to creating impactful, community-based programs that raise awareness of substance use, addiction, and behavioral health challenges. A Certified Family Recovery Specialist (CFRS), Kim is trained to help families navigate the recovery journey and access the support they need. As the parent of a child in long-term recovery, she understands firsthand the profound impact addiction has on individuals, families, and communities. Inspired by this experience, Kim co-founded Be a Part of the Conversation in 2011 and has since been a passionate advocate for education, prevention, recovery support, and community engagement.
