The 3rd Annual Neil Lasher Music Fund Luncheon
Tuesday, November 14th 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM | Michael's New York
Celebrating Neil’s birthday and sober anniversary and raising funds to support the work of The Neil Lasher Music Fund which provides financial assistance for drug and alcohol addiction treatment to those affiliated with the music world. In addition, the Fund supports the integration of music into treatment for addiction.
Musical performance by Tommy Stinson
A founding member of The Replacements; a key second-generation ingredient in Guns N’ Roses; and a seven-year member of Soul Asylum. Tommy also led two bands of his own — Bash & Pop and Perfect —and his latest venture is called Cowboys in the Campfire — a duo with good pal Chip Roberts.
I can’t express how grateful I am. Before this opportunity I was really having a hard time and drinking was my only way to cope. The stress of the music business really drove my alcoholism to extremes I could never imagine. This scholarship means the world to me cause now I’m learning the tools to help me succeed in life. My biggest problem was being afraid to ask for help, but since I arrived here I’m realizing that the help I’m getting here is saving my life.” – D.S
