Presenter: Caren Lowrey
Caren Lowrey has spent the last two decades of experience in the f ields of Criminal Justice, Social Work and Mental Health. Prior to coming to Caron Treatment Centers in 2022, she previously worked as a Social Worker servicing children within the City of Philadelphia and its prison system. She holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Delaware in Criminal Justice and Sociology, and has studied Dutch criminal justice at Leiden University in the Netherlands. Caren is in long-term recovery from substance use disorder, which allows her the ability to educate and prevent from both a personal and professional lens. She is a certified Recovery Specialist for the state of Pennsylvania and a firm supporter of multiple pathways of recovery. She is also an advocate for harm reduction and drug policy reform.
