The Blues Program

A wellbeing program for teens in grades 8–12

Rates of depression in teens have been steadily rising for several years.

According to the CDC, 37% of teens report feeling sad or depressed most days.

The Blues Program is an internationally acclaimed, evidence-based program that helps teens build emotional resilience and reduce low mood and anxious thoughts by giving students practical tools and a safe space to talk about what they’re going through.

Most importantly, it gets teenagers talking.

Proven Outcomes

Students who participate in The Blues Program have shown:

  • Reduced depression symptoms for up to two years
  • Lower risk of developing major depressive disorder
  • Reduced substance use

How It Works

The Blues Program includes:

  • Six hours of group sessions
  • Home practice tasks between sessions

During the group sessions, students:

  • Learn how to recognize and challenge negative thoughts
  • Explore different healthy coping strategies
  • Build confidence and connection through regular group discussions

The home tasks give students a chance to practice their new skills in real life.

It’s straightforward, practical, and it works.
