Recovery services help you stay connected to support after treatment

Completing treatment is an important milestone, but recovery continues long after a treatment program ends. Returning home after residential treatment often means managing new responsibilities, rebuilding routines, and handling situations that were not present during treatment.

Recovery services provide continued support during this stage through individualized, clinically informed services. In addition to ongoing guidance and accountability, services can help with reintegration planning as you adjust to work, school, family responsibilities, and daily life after treatment.

Through virtual and in-person options, we help individuals and families throughout New York City access support as recovery needs change over time.

What happens during recovery services

Recovery services begin with understanding your current recovery goals, challenges, and support needs. Early sessions focus on identifying areas where additional guidance may be beneficial and developing a plan that addresses recovery goals, daily responsibilities, and areas needing additional support.

Support is individualized and may include recovery coaching, family recovery coaching, therapist-led virtual support groups, case management, or reintegration planning. Ongoing coaching sessions focus on accountability, recovery goals, coping strategies, family support, and practical guidance that helps you manage challenges as they arise.

Many services can be accessed through My Recovery Connection, Caron's virtual recovery support platform. This allows individuals and families across the city to participate in coaching, support groups, and other recovery services from home, while traveling, or whenever additional support is needed.

Recovery services support diverse recovery needs

Recovery is not the same for everyone, and the support that helps one person may not meet another's needs. Recovery services include therapist-led support groups that connect people with peers facing similar recovery experiences and challenges.

Support groups are available for young adults, older adults, parents, siblings, significant others, and members of the LGBTQ+ community. Caron New York also offers gender-specific early recovery groups for young men and young women, creating opportunities to connect with peers facing similar experiences.

These groups provide a supportive environment where participants can share experiences, build coping skills, strengthen resilience, and learn from others in recovery. For many individuals and families in New York, peer connection and community support become important parts of maintaining long-term recovery.

Recovery support can continue for as long as you need it

Recovery does not follow a fixed timeline, and support needs can change over time. Some people use recovery services for a short period after treatment, while others continue accessing support during major life changes, stressful situations, or other periods when additional guidance is helpful.

Recovery coaching, family recovery coaching, support groups, and other recovery services are available year-round. Support can be adjusted based on your needs, allowing you to access more frequent services during challenging periods and less frequent support as stability increases.

As needs change, recovery services can continue to provide access to coaching, support groups, family support, and recovery resources. For individuals and families throughout New York City, this flexibility allows support to remain available long after treatment ends.
