Tina George

As a senior coordinator of student assistance programming, Tina George oversees the educational services Caron provides to schools, educators, students, and families in Pennsylvania, which include prevention and substance use education.

In that role, Tina supervises the work of the lead and education specialists who provide educational services and ensures quality assurance for the education Caron offers. She is also a lead trainer for the Pennsylvania Student Assistance Program Certification Program, contracted by the Pennsylvania Department of Education to train teachers and administrators to take part in their school’s student assistance team.

Tina began working at Caron in 2006, hired to oversee that training. Her role expanded and evolved into her current position, which she took on in 2020. She is particularly proud of developing the Peak Performance Program, which educates student athletes about the impact of substance use on athletic performance and gives them information about how to be at peak performance to meet both team and personal goals.

She has a Master of Social Work from Marywood University, Dunmore, Pennsylvania, and is a certified prevention specialist (CPS).

I believe in our mission and appreciate that Caron has supported the work we have done to become thought leaders in our industry and in prevention education. The training and professional development we offer to educators is one of the most satisfying parts of my job because it gives them a better understanding of what kids need and how to help them.”
