Taylor Scott
Primary Therapist
MA, BS, RMHCI
Florida

As a primary therapist for patients in Caron’s Renaissance Program, Taylor Scott creates a safe environment for patients to be honest, vulnerable, and open to creating a healthy and sustainable recovery.

In this role, which Taylor took on in 2024, she provides individual therapy, facilitates groups, and supports patients as they build independence and resilience. She uses a trauma-informed approach and relies on techniques and principles from a range of proven therapies, including cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, internal family systems, and polyvagal theory.

Taylor was a graduate intern at Caron with the Mental Health Program before taking on her current role. Previously, she interned for a semester counseling children with another local agency. While she was an undergraduate, Taylor volunteered as an advocate in a program for survivors of sexual trauma and other various mental health agencies.

Her previous professional and volunteer experience expanded her understanding of the fundamental role trauma plays in substance use disorders as well as other mental health disorders. She also gained experience in how to create a space that feels genuine and safe.

Taylor is a registered mental health counselor intern with a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lynn University, Boca Raton, Florida, and a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication from University of South Carolina, Columbia, South Carolina.
