Susan has practiced psychotherapy in both inpatient and outpatient clinical settings since 2010. She worked as a family therapist at Caron Renaissance for seven years before coming to Ocean Drive in 2017.
The supportive, guiding role she plays in helping clients and their families rebuild trust and rediscover their connection to one another is a driving force in her work.
She understands how to build rapport with clients of all ages, from children to older adults, which makes the work she does with families more effective. She explores family of origin issues, personality configurations, lack or loss of communication skills, and other barriers to healthy relationships.
She uses many therapeutic approaches including psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, didactic, experiential, as well as teaching and reinforcing life skills. She is also trained in psychodrama and Imago couples counseling.
Susan graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in education and a master’s degree in mental health counseling from Florida Atlantic University.
