Robert Kertis

In his role as chief financial officer, Robert Kertis is responsible for Caron's financial health, working with the executive team as well as managers across the organization to ensure that Caron's finances enable the organization to continue its mission of transforming lives through high-quality, comprehensive treatment.

That role encompasses providing strategic guidance, overseeing Caron's financial departments, and serving on the Executive Leadership Team. Robert also works with his financial staff on planning, budgeting, forecasting, risk, and governance.

Before coming to Caron, Robert worked for almost 30 years in the healthcare industry, with experience in all phases of financial management for healthcare/nonprofit organizations, including, hospitals, physician practices capital planning, debt financing, strategic analysis, and insurance.

Most recently, he was the chief financial officer for a psychiatric treatment center that includes a hospital, schools, and outpatient treatment programs. In that position, he increased revenue to support the organization, securing funding for new initiatives. Robert also served as executive director, revenue cycle, for a health system that included several facilities and physician practices. Throughout his career, Robert has worked to ensure that the health care facilities he was part of optimized financial strategies to enable them to provide the best possible care and expand that care as needed.

Robert has a Master of Business Administration from Robert Morris College, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and a Bachelor of Science in business administration from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania, Indiana. He completed The Advisory Board’s Fellowship Program (FABC) and is also a Fellow of the Healthcare Financial Management Association (FHFMA). He completed Six Sigma training in 2008.
