Dr. Paul Rashid joined Caron in August 2025 as a Board-Certified Psychiatrist, bringing nearly two decades of experience in mental health care. In his role, Dr. Rashid conducts comprehensive psychiatric evaluations to diagnose and treat a wide range of conditions, including depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, PTSD, psychotic disorders, and personality disorders. He develops personalized treatment plans that may include psychiatric medications such as antidepressants, mood stabilizers, anti-anxiety medications, or antipsychotics, depending on the diagnosis and severity of symptoms.
Dr. Rashid’s passion for psychiatry stems from his lifelong interest in understanding the human condition. His fascination with the complexities of the mind and behavior led him to pursue a career where he could help individuals overcome psychological stressors and thrive. He takes a patient-centered approach, focusing on understanding each client’s unique journey and empowering them to overcome obstacles through holistic recovery.
Before joining Caron, Dr. Rashid served as Medical Director and Executive Medical Director for two large inpatient psychiatric hospitals in Palm Beach County. During his tenure, he gained invaluable leadership experience but ultimately chose to return to direct clinical care to focus fully on his patients. His extensive training includes completing his psychiatric residency as Chief Resident at West Virginia University and becoming the first psychiatrist to complete a nationwide Psychosocial and Rehabilitation Interdisciplinary Fellowship for Severe Mental Illness through the La Jolla VA Healthcare System in San Diego, California. This fellowship shaped his recovery- and patient-centered approach, emphasizing prevention and holistic healing.
Dr. Rashid’s practice integrates a whole-food diet, physical exercise, meaningful activities and relationships, spirituality, and recovery from addiction and mental illness. His compassionate and understanding approach, combined with his commitment to holistic recovery, makes him a valuable asset to Caron’s mission of helping individuals overcome addiction and mental health challenges.
Dr. Rashid earned his undergraduate degree from West Virginia University, attended medical school at Marshall University, and completed his psychiatric residency at West Virginia University.
