Melanie Zobian
MA, BA, CPS
Pennsylvania
Melanie blends her professional expertise with personal experience to provide compassionate, individualized care to patients in the Men’s Program. In addition to the exceptional training and the unwavering support of her professors at Immaculata University, what makes Melanie even more uniquely suited to this work is her personal recovery story. Through her own 10+ years of continuous sobriety that began as a patient here at Caron, she fosters a deep understanding and empathy for those facing the isolating and intimidating challenges of addiction treatment.
Beyond her professional skills, Melanie also incorporates her perspective as a mother of teenagers who have grown up immersed in the principles of the Twelve Steps. She knows firsthand the balance required to maintain sobriety while navigating the complexities of family life, an endeavor she shares with both humor and insight.
Before joining Caron full-time, Melanie worked at an inpatient treatment center in the Philadelphia metro area where she gained valuable exposure to the diverse roles within the field of addiction treatment. After spending time as a Recovery Advocate, a case manager, and an outpatient coordinator, she realized that counseling was her true calling. A proud member of the Beta Mu chapter of Chi Sigma Iota, she completed her graduate intern work at Caron and feels privileged to work in an environment that prioritizes ongoing learning and professional development so passionately.
Melanie also believes her love for existential therapy is a perfect match for the challenges of early recovery. She focuses on helping her patients find meaning in the struggles of addiction, take responsibility for their decisions, and live an authentic life powered by both fulfillment and purpose. What she cherishes most in her role as therapist is witnessing a patient’s "a-ha" moment, that split second when a critical piece of their recovery falls into place, reaffirming again and again her dedication to this critical, life-saving work.
