Kate Watkins is a Primary Therapist in Caron’s Core Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) in Florida, where she provides individual and group therapy for individuals navigating substance use and co-occurring emotional challenges. Her approach is relational, trauma-informed, and deeply collaborative, focusing on helping patients reconnect with themselves, their emotions, and their ability to build a meaningful, substance-free life.

Kate is passionate about guiding individuals to find light in the darkest moments of their journey, helping them realize that strength and hope have been within them all along. Known for her direct, compassionate, and grounded presence, she believes healing is both practical and emotional. Her work emphasizes the importance of insight while also teaching skills like nervous system regulation, relationship navigation, and emotional resilience.

Kate integrates a variety of therapeutic modalities, including Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). These approaches support emotional processing, nervous system regulation, and sustainable change. Her experience in detox and residential treatment settings has provided her with a comprehensive understanding of the recovery process and the complex transitions patients face.

Kate earned her Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling from Palm Beach Atlantic University and continues to pursue advanced training in experiential and attachment-based therapies. Outside of her professional work, she is a mom of three, which has shaped her perspective on resilience, repair, and the transformative power of supportive relationships.

For Kate, the most rewarding part of her work is witnessing patients rediscover hope, agency, and connection — often when they least expect it.
