Joshua Sewell
Director of Union and EAP Partnerships
M.Ed., MHC-LP, CASAC-T

Joshua Sewell brings more than a decade of clinical and outreach experience—and nearly 14 years of personal recovery—to his work at Caron. For Joshua, this is not just a career; it is a calling rooted in compassion, trust, and an unwavering commitment to individuals and families affected by addiction.

Joshua has worked with thousands of patients and families over the past 11+ years, both in clinical settings and through outreach. After five years as a licensed therapist, he transitioned into outreach work six and a half years ago, promising his community—particularly in New York City—that he would show up fully for those in need. Whether on weekends, holidays, late nights, or moments of crisis, Joshua is known for being consistently present and deeply responsive. Being a steady bridge to recovery for patients and families is what he values most about his role.

Prior to joining Caron, Joshua spent 6 years with Recovery Centers of America, where he was quickly promoted from outreach to Team Lead and later Regional Manager. His work focused on building trusted relationships with referral partners, ensuring appropriate levels of care, and supporting seamless connections into treatment. His clinical background allows him to approach outreach with both empathy and clinical insight, always keeping patients’ best interests at the center of every decision.

Joshua’s passion for this work is deeply personal. He spent 12 years in active addiction before seeking help, and once he entered recovery, he knew he wanted to dedicate his life to helping others find the same freedom. Today, he strives to be an example of what is right in addiction treatment—leading with integrity, humility, and service.

Joshua earned his Bachelor of Science in Psychology from East Tennessee State University and a Master of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of New Orleans.

Above all, Joshua is a helper at heart. He is known for his empathy, trustworthiness, and patient-first approach, believing firmly that this work is never about him—it is about the individuals and families he serves.
