Jo Ann M. Derr
As the Administrative Director of Medical Services and Education, Jo Ann Derr supports the medical director and associate medical director administratively.
She also manages the Medical Professional Training Program and supports the Addiction Medicine Fellowship as Program Coordinator. Her responsibilities include managing the daily operations of the Medical Department and the scheduling of adult and adolescent psychiatric referrals.
Jo Ann came to Caron in 2002 as the Coordinator of Medical Services, a position she held for 20 years. Prior to coming to Caron, she worked as a medical administrator in doctor’s offices, clinics, and home health care for many years, experience she brought with her to Caron and continues to rely upon.
Jo Ann is a registered medical assistant. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in advanced professional studies from Alvernia College and a Bachelor of Arts in psychology and organizational behavior from Alvernia University. She also has an associate degree in business administration in medical office management.
Working with the department’s medical leaders, I provide a cohesive environment for nurses, nurse practitioners, physicians, and others in the department to ensure comprehensive medical care.”
