Doug Smith
Florida
With a steadfast commitment to fostering a supportive and compassionate environment, Doug is driven to making a positive impact on the lives of individuals seeking recovery. As a Supervisor at Caron, he oversees day-to-day operations, ensuring seamless communication among clinical staff, RA staff, and patients. His focus is to address patient needs and support quality care, ensuring our facility runs smoothly and effectively.
Since joining Caron in October 2022, he has embraced the opportunity to help transform lives. Promoted to Supervisor in March 2023, he brings a strong work ethic, adaptability, and deep empathy to his role. These qualities are rooted not only in his professional experience but also in his personal recovery journey. Having overcome addiction, himself and previously been a patient at Caron, Doug intimately understands the challenges our patients face. His journey inspires himself to create an environment of hope, understanding, and empowerment for every individual who walks through our doors.
Prior to Caron, Doug refined his skills at Allure Detox in West Palm Beach, where he served as a Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) for 11 months and as a BHT Supervisor for the subsequent 10 months. His experience in these positions, combined with a bachelor’s degree in history from Denison University, enables him to relate to patients from diverse backgrounds and provide the compassionate, patient-centered care that Caron stands for.
What Doug cherishes most about his role is witnessing the resilience and transformations of our patients as they grow and improve their lives. Every step forward they take is a testament to the profound impact of empathetic care, and he is grateful to be a part of their recovery journeys.
