Christina Favinger is a recovery support specialist with the My First Year of Recovery Program, a position she has been in since 2015. In this role, she works with clients after they leave treatment and their families, supporting them through the ups and downs of their first year of recovery.
Through contact via phone and video conference calls, she supports their efforts to create a healthy life in recovery, overcome post-treatment challenges, and find community supports and resources. She provides similar support to family members and helps the whole family learn effective, healthy ways to communicate and interact.
Prior to joining the My First Year of Recovery Program, Christina was a counselor assistant for a Caron inpatient program, a job she took on when she came to Caron in 2011.
She has a bachelor’s degree in addiction studies from Alvernia University.
Watching the progress my clients and families make as I work with them throughout the year is the best part of my job.
