Charles Malcolm

Charlie Malcolm is the Clinical Admissions Supervisor, a role in which he is an expert resource to assist families to find the best-fit treatment program for their needs and goals.

To do that, he educates prospective patients and family members about how treatment works, from detox and assessment to aftercare and recovery support. He lays out the options that would best meet their situation and needs and explains why those options are the most likely to achieve their goals.

If the best next step is treatment at Renaissance, Charlie supports families through the admissions process, answering questions, serving as a liaison to the clinical team, and reviewing documents and other records required for admission.

Charlie came to Caron in 2017 as a counselor assistant at Ocean Drive before moving into a role as case specialist for Caron Renaissance. During the pandemic, he worked as an admissions specialist and then clinical admissions specialist for Caron Pennsylvania, taking on his current role at Renaissance at the end of 2021. He volunteered at Caron for a year before becoming a counselor assistant. Having gone through his own personal challenges and growth, he understands the situations many of the people he works with find themselves in and the kind of help they need.

Prior to his work at Caron, Charlie held a variety of positions that laid the foundation of his client relations experience, including in hospitality management and the restaurant business as well as several years as an electrician.

He is a certified allied addiction counselor, currently working toward a Master of Social Work from Florida Atlantic University, Boca Raton. He has a Bachelor of Business Administration from Strayer University, Washington, DC, and an Associate of Culinary Arts from Johnson & Wales, Providence, Rhode Island.
