Alyssa Jones

As the clinical supervisor for Caron Florida’s Older Adult Program, Alyssa Jones ensures that patients receive the best possible care, overseeing therapists and providing guidance, implementing treatment components, and managing schedules. She also communicates with family members and referents and sets up aftercare for patients who have completed treatment.

Before joining the Caron Florida team, Alyssa was the clinical supervisor for Encore Outpatient Services, a Caron/MARC partnership outpatient treatment center. In that role, she supervised Encore's clinical team and supported efforts related to the alumni program, outreach, and community engagement.

She came to Encore as a primary therapist, facilitating art therapy groups and providing individual counseling services to patients. Alyssa was an active member of Encore's culture committee as well as a co-leader of the trauma team, focusing on bringing trauma-informed practices to the Encore program. In her clinical practice, Alyssa combined the expressive use of drawing, painting, photography and sculpture with psychotherapeutic concepts to aid in healing the mind and body.

Alyssa has a Master of Arts in art therapy and counseling from The George Washington University, Washington, D.C., specializing in arts-based, trauma-informed approaches. She received her bachelor’s degree in human development and family science from the University of Missouri, Columbia, where she also studied French, art, and psychology. Alyssa has also completed Brainspotting phase I and II training and utilizes this in her work with individual patients.
