Caron Appoints New Executive Director in Florida
Brad Sorte

DELRAY BEACH, FLORIDA - Caron Treatment Centers, a leading and nationally recognized not-for-profit provider of behavioral health care and addiction treatment, is pleased to announce that Bradley F. Sorte will become Executive Director of Caron Renaissance beginning July 1st. Sid Goodman, who held the position for 25 years since its inception in 1990, will transition into the role of Founder Emeritus of Caron Renaissance, and will continue as a consultant to Caron.

“Words cannot express the gratitude, respect, and admiration we have towards Sid. His innovative approach to treatment has been instrumental to the success of patients, families, and alumni,” said Doug Tieman, President and CEO of Caron. “At the same time, we are excited for Brad to take the reigns. Brad’s ascension reflects Caron’s commitment to ‘growing our own’ and developing the talents of our staff. Our goal is to have a seamless transition that ensures the essential and unique aspects of Caron’s culture and treatment remain consistent.”

Sorte has played a principal role in addiction and behavioral healthcare treatment for individuals, families, and groups as a Primary Therapist at Ocean Drive and in the Family Program at Caron Renaissance. He has masters-level degrees in social work and business administration and regularly presents at prominent addiction treatment conferences nationally.

“Sid has been a mentor and a great educator. It’s a bittersweet transition for me, but I am grateful to have had the opportunity to work for a pioneer in the field,” said Sorte. “We’re in the midst of a very exciting time at Caron. There’s a great deal of optimism and enthusiasm about what the future holds in terms of programming initiatives and organizational innovation.”

During his career, Goodman created the Florida model of treatment. At Caron, he developed a one-of-its-kind residential family restructuring program, facilitated a partnership with College Bound, and established a clinically superior program for high-net worth families. He has also taken the lead on developing cutting-edge brain health initiatives.

“I feel grateful that I’ve been part of such a collaborative team. Caron’s leadership has always been extremely supportive and empowered me to make a difference in new and innovative ways,” said Goodman. “Brad will continue this legacy with his outstanding leadership skills and clinical insight, passion for nurturing our staff and alumni, and commitment to raising awareness about addiction.”
