El's Story

I have experienced the impact of addiction in many ways in my adult life. I first learned about Caron when I met my husband, Pat, a Caron alum. Nearly four years sober at the time, Pat shared his story with me, including his experiences in Wernersville and at Renaissance. Through Pat, I witnessed the profound impact that Caron can have not just on one person but on his entire family.

In 2020, I directly benefited from the resources Caron offers when my brother Joe was admitted for treatment in Wernersville. Participating in weekly family calls while Joe was in treatment helped our family communicate and learn how we can support Joe. Joe is approaching two years of sobriety, and our family is so proud of him!

I personally have Caron to thank for the relationships I have with my husband and my brother. I am honored to be able to help move the mission forward however I can.
