Treating Adolescent and Young Adult Substance Use Disorder

This presentation for clinicians and other professionals will provide an overview of adolescent and young adult substance abuse treatment modalities, with a special focus on the Transtheoretical Model (TTM). Additionally, we will discuss the resistance to clinical intervention and/or higher levels of care as a normative process within the families of adolescents and young adults suffering with co-occurring addiction and psychiatric illnesses. We will describe how empirically demonstrated interventions can support and work with the entire family system.
