Neurofeedback Services

Neurofeedback is a brain-based therapy that gives patients a way to regulate dysfunctional activity and reinforce healthy brain function. When paired with other therapeutic modalities, neurofeedback teaches patients a way to regulate and reinforce healthy brain function.

How Neurofeedback Sessions Work

Integrative neurofeedback therapy is best used as one component in a multidisciplinary approach to treating substance use and mental health disorders. We use neurofeedback therapy at our Pennsylvania and Florida treatment centers to alleviate mental health symptoms that may block a patient’s progress. Our neurofeedback specialists work with the patient’s treatment team to develop an integrated plan.

Step 1: Brain Mapping

A brain-mapping session provides a baseline assessment of brain function. A technician places an elastic cap with sensors on the patient’s head. The sensors detect electrical patterns produced by the brain using electroencephalography (EEG).

Developing a Treatment Plan

Working with clinical staff, the technician creates an individualized treatment plan with specific areas of the brain to train.

Neurofeedback Sessions

A brain-video interplay teaches the patient how to regulate your brain activity by playing a game based on real-time brain activity. The more you play, the better you become at regulating how your brain functions.
