Recovery Support Services Highlights

Caron’s Recovery Support Services specialists provide individualized, clinically driven services to ensure that you and your family have the resources you need to successfully transition from residential care back to everyday life. Services are offered nationally and virtually. Your Caron clinical team will recommend the appropriate level of care for your circumstances.

Even if you did not receive inpatient care at Caron, you may still access our recovery support services.

Recovery Support Services

Your recovery support specialist is a trained clinician with extensive experience in providing continued care. You will receive a custom plan for your ongoing care, specific to the needs of you and your family. This program is not a substitute for continued treatment or your participation in a 12-Step program or other recovery program.

Specialists are available to assist you virtually and in person. The services noted below are examples and not an exhaustive list. Recovery support specialists work with their clients and families to determine what services are needed.

Please note that fees for external clinical services such as local clinical care and wellness services are not included in the fees for recovery support services and must be paid for separately.

  • Significant Other Support (SOS) Group: In a safe, intimate environment, group members process their thoughts and feelings with the support of peers and an experienced clinician. The group focuses on discussing relationships, trust, and intimacy; developing healthy coping and self-care skills; recognizing relapse signs; and learning about relapse prevention practices.
  • Women’s Recovery Group: Women often have unique early recovery experiences. This group offers them a place to focus on relapse prevention, share their struggles, and offer one another feedback and guidance in a supportive space.
  • Men’s Early Recovery Group: Participants discuss their goals, strengths, and challenges in a circle of peers who understand and can offer support. Along with other recovery supports, this group contributes to a strong foundation for participants’ lives in recovery.

The most well known is Alcoholics Anonymous, more commonly known as AA. AA’s central tenet is that a person must admit that they are powerless over alcohol. Another foundational tenet is that a person must have faith in a higher power to attain a healthy mind. There are groups for other types of addiction, including Narcotics Anonymous (NA) and several similar groups, as well as Al-Anon and Nar-Anon for family members.

Other types of recovery groups include:

  • Smart Recovery, which uses rational emotive behavioral therapy (REBT) and cognitive behavioral therapy to help people maintain their recovery
  • Recovery Dharma, which is founded on Buddhist principles to support recovery
  • LifeRing Secular Recovery, an abstinence-based, anonymous organization that uses the principles of sobriety, secularity, and self-help to achieve and maintain recovery
