Over $1M Raised at Caron Treatment Centers’ 31st Annual New York Gala, Supporting Recovery for Life
Performances from Demi Lovato and Rosanne Cash; Jennifer Bandier, Dr. Angelina Lipman, Monte Lipman honored
New York, N.Y. – April 28, 2025 – Caron Treatment Centers, a leading, internationally recognized nonprofit dedicated to transforming the lives of individuals, families and communities through addiction and behavioral healthcare treatment, education, prevention and research raised over $1M at its 31st Annual New York Gala.
The event was attended by over 500 guests and featured a special performance by GRAMMY-nominated artist, actor, and mental health advocate Demi Lovato. Rosanne Cash and John Leventhal opened the evening, which also honored three longtime supporters and advocates: Jennifer Bandier, Dr. Angelina Lipman, and Monte Lipman.
“I’d like to extend a big thank you to Caron Treatment Centers for having me here and for all of the important work you do,” said Demi Lovato, in remarks during her performance. “What makes Caron so special is the strong sense of community which is so essential for recovery. Keep doing what you’re doing, and know that you are transforming people’s lives.”
Funds raised provide scholarships and programmatic support for Caron’s work in New York and beyond, including recovery services, family programming, alumni support, and prevention initiatives. Caron’s New York Recovery Center, which opened in 1996, serves as a hub for community engagement, education, and early intervention, offering hope and healing to individuals and families navigating substance use and mental health challenges.
Speaking about the critical role of Caron and its supporters, Monte Lipman, Founder and CEO of Republic Records remarked, “Tonight we honor the work of Caron and its mission to help those in need. The people in the room are the reason lives change for the better, the reason families stay intact, the reason people live to see another day.”
“A lifeboat isn’t a destination, it’s just the chance to keep going,” said Maxwell Fiedel, Caron’s Regional Vice President for New York. “Caron was the destination, the place that gave that chance meaning, that taught me not just how to live, but how to love life again.”
In commenting on the impact of the evening, John Driscoll, CEO of Caron Treatment Centers shared, “Since our founding nearly 70 years ago by Dick and Catherine Caron, it’s been our mission to help individuals and families struggling with the brain disorder of addiction begin their recovery journey. That’s something we’re working hard on: To help people understand this is not a disgrace, it’s a disease.”
