As a staff physician at The Keele Center, Dr. Rasha Lawrence is responsible for initial evaluations for patients coming into treatment and medication management while they are in treatment. With education in psychiatry, addiction medicine, as well as immunology and rheumatology, and an interest in spirituality, Dr. Lawrence’s approach integrates mind, body, and spirit, ensuring holistic, comprehensive treatment for her patients.

Dr. Lawrence has more than 30 years of medical experience, and more than 20 years in addiction medicine and psychiatry most recently as medical director, addiction medicine specialist, and psychiatrist. She also served as the corporate medical director for an addiction treatment program for eight years where she treated thousands of patients with addiction and dual diagnosis. Dr. Lawrence founded and serves as the medical director for The Lawrence Wellness Center, a role in which she offers evidence-based psychological and medical therapies to treat different forms of addiction, eating disorders, depression, anxiety disorder, bipolar disorder, trauma, OCD, panic disorder, PTSD, and personality disorders.

She also uses her wealth of empathy, compassion, and knowledge to ensure that patients are comfortable and believe in their potential for resilience, recovery, and a healthy life going forward. Being able to contribute to saving lives and giving people a chance at new lives in recovery is the most rewarding aspect of her work.

In addition to her psychiatric residency, Dr. Lawrence completed a three-year residency in physical medicine, rheumatology, and rehabilitation at Ain Shams University Hospitals Cairo, Egypt.

Dr. Lawrence is board-certified in addiction medicine. She graduated from Ain Shams University Medical School, Cairo, Egypt, and has a master’s degree in rheumatology, physical medicine, and rehabilitation from the same university and completed her psychiatric residency at Jackson Memorial Hospital, University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine.
