Gjyste Camaj is the Development Associate and Administrative Coordinator for the Caron New York Recovery Center.
Gjyste joined the Caron New Recovery Center in 2005, she played multiple roles in the expansion and sustainability of the NY Office. Throughout the years she continued to grow her expertise, leadership and creativity skills. Since 2016 in her Development Associate role, she collaborates with Caron New York's Regional Vice President of Development in advancing the mission of Caron throughout the region and maintaining and growing the New York Advisory Board. Additionally, she supervises the lead administrative assistant.
Gjyste’s work is central to the annual Caron New York Gala; she cultivates donor and volunteer relationships, with strong project management skills and communication skills. She works directly with the Gala committee in event strategic planning and the evolution of this signature experience. She co-leads all of the New York Center’s special events, including Greggs Gift Comedy Night and the annual Music Matters fund-raiser. She helps with volunteer coordination, manages tracking and coordination of major gifts, and organizes and sends out materials for events and committee and board meetings.
In 2017, she received the Allen H. Arrow Achievement Award for her dedication, tireless effort, wisdom that have played an essential role in the development of Caron NY as well as Caron Treatment Center. Her commitment has benefitted many individuals, parents and families challenged by addiction. She also has a certificate in business training skills.
