Davida Schoentag provides clinical leadership and oversees the coordination of care for clients. In that role, she provides knowledge and expertise to enhance the competence and capability of Caron staff at Ocean Drive as well as other Caron locations.
She also steps in as needed to provide individual and family therapy.
Davida’s approach focuses on the underlying character pathologies that fuel addictive processes while also working with families to engage them in their own recovery process. Helping individuals and families delve into their emotional lives to better understand themselves and their relationships rather than blaming their addiction is one of the most rewarding aspects of her therapeutic work.
She came to Ocean Drive in 2014 as clinical director and became the senior clinical advisor in 2018, after working as a primary and family therapist at Caron Renaissance, beginning in 2006. She began her career at Saint Francis Hospital in New York in 1992. She received a master’s degree in social work with a clinical concentration from Fordham University.
