As a Behavioral Health Therapist working with adult women, Allison Dunlap offers individual and group therapy and psychoeducation to enable them to move into a healthy life in recovery.
Her role encompasses supporting and guiding her patients in understanding treatment and how to get the most benefit from it as well as helping them process the issues and consequences of their substance use disorder. Allison also gives them tools for coping with addiction and to help them maintain their recovery, including aftercare recommendations in their home communities.
Being able to participate in the transformational process that moves patients from addiction to recovery and seeing the changes that occur are the biggest reason she has taken on this role.
Before coming to Caron in 2022, Allison was a drug and alcohol counselor at treatment facilities in Pennsylvania and New York City for four years. Prior to becoming a social worker, Allison worked in the telecommunications industry.
Allison has a Master of Social Work from Fordham University, New York City. She is a licensed social worker and a certified advanced alcohol and drug counselor. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Asian studies from Temple University, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
