Caron Treatment Centers has entered into an exciting research partnership with the National Association of Addiction Treatment Providers (NAATP) and other well-regarded treatment providers. This study will be conducted with the non-profit research group, OMNI Institute. It will utilize the highest standards of research methodology and will be approved by an Institutional Review Board (IRB). The goal of this study is to develop measurement standards across the addiction treatment field. This study will examine variables such as: the detoxification process, patient engagement in treatment, education, addiction counseling, medication, psychological and psychiatric services, family support and 12 Step activity as well as aftercare and outcomes out to one year post-discharge. Over 1,000 patients are expected to participate in the study.
Caron will be a part of collecting data with NAATP using the standards and instruments they are utilizing. We will be following approximately 100 of our patients after treatment for one year. Our data along with the data from the other addiction treatment providers will be analyzed to help develop a standard of data collection across the addiction treatment industry. The results of this study will be published in a peer-reviewed journal and developed into a protocol that will be available to all NAATP members.
We are excited to be part of this ground-breaking study.
