Web-based course is accessible to companies across the nation
Wernersville, Penn., May 27, 2020--Caron Treatment Centers, an internationally recognized not-for-profit dedicated to addiction and behavioral healthcare, announced today it has partnered with Cook Family Learning, to develop a digital course for business leaders entitled “Substance Use & the Workplace.”
Cook Family Learning provides online learning programs that aim to change the way people think about substance use and addiction and create an open and honest dialog within the workplace and at home. Their programs encourage individuals and organizations to face addiction head-on through positive, preventative and compassionate solutions.
“We know early intervention is key when addressing issues of substance use in the workplace,” said Tammy Granger, vice president of Education at Caron. “Organizations need to feel empowered and informed to address issues and get help for those in need. At Caron, we feel it’s important to make information accessible and convenient. That’s why we’ve created a Digital Learning suite to virtually connect people with our quality educational programs on a variety of substance use and prevention-related topics. We are excited to add Substance Use & the Workplace as an education option.”
The Substance Use & the Workplace course educates business leaders and managers on the significant financial impact employee substance use can have on an organization. The five learning modules provide insight and tools to help companies recognize and mitigate employee performance issues related to substance use and empower learners to develop policies to both prevent and address existing substance use problems.
Cook Family Learning plans to further develop their education platform with a diverse range of new courses dealing with the impact of substance use disorders and actively promotes the Caron Treatment Center’s Digital Learning series via their website. Caron’s Digital Learning web-based series provides prevention, education and cessation tools for teenagers, parents, caregivers and child-serving professionals. Comprehensively, the platform highlights the importance of understanding addiction as a brain disease, removing the stigma of substance use disorder and providing critical skills and information to help individuals and those who care about them conquer the disease and enter recovery.
