My name is Alexandra D., owner of The Pretty Pink Rooster, an online boutique. I’ve created a piece of jewelry dedicated to the journey of recovery, inspired by Caron and everything that they do for people who suffer from addiction. Twelve butterflies, which are symbolic of the Twelve Steps, are surrounded by beautiful beads, which symbolize hope. The bracelet is purple, which just so happens to be the color of recovery.
The total net profit of these bracelets will be donated to the Caron Renaissance Lifesaver Scholarship Fund, so that someone suffering from addiction will be able to get the help they need. With your help, we will be able to create more access to care for people who truly need it, but just cannot afford it.
Caron is very close to my heart. I have a family member who suffers from the disease of addiction. I had to sit idly by while it tore her life apart, bit by bit. Without Caron, my family member would not be the person she is today. It has been three years and I cannot begin to explain how proud I am, and how grateful I am to Caron for all the help that they provided my family. Caron taught my loved one to live a sober life, and taught me how to heal after dealing with my life being turned inside out and upside down.
This bracelet gives me the opportunity to give back to the organization that saved the life of someone I love. Not only does it signify the movement of recovery and the possibility of change in our lives, it will help people who truly need it. By wearing the bracelet, we can band together to make a change and stop the stigma of addiction.
We can show the world that this disease is serious, and that we are finally taking a stand.
