Our Approach.

Most addicts face multiple addictions. In these cases, multiple addictions not only coexist, but interact, reinforce one another and fuse in a process called addiction interaction disorder (AID). Treating multiple addictions—including addictions to drugs, alcohol, gambling, sex, eating, work or the Internet—is the only way to prevent the progression of addiction interaction disorder.

Caron has a long track record of treating chemically dependent patients (who may also be struggling with multiple addictions) and their families. Our approach is patient-centered, 12-Step driven and rooted in the belief that treatment must address a patient's mind, body and spirit in order to bring about enduring and change.

Treatment Techniques.

Addiction interaction disorder treatment at Caron consists of screening, assessment, education and therapy. Our multi-disciplinary team of certified addiction professionals provides individual and group counseling; designs patient-centered daily recovery programs; and teaches alternative coping skills through education and practice.

Treatment objectives include:

  • Educating patients and families on the importance of treating multiple addictions
  • Teaching the skills necessary for avoiding relapse triggers
  • Helping patients understand and address compulsive behaviors in a 12-Step format
  • Adopting healthy behaviors as opposed to compulsive behaviors
  • Establish an ongoing Recovery Care plan

We ensure that each patient receives close clinical supervision throughout treatment and leaves with an ongoing care plan in place.
