Love the Kid, Hate the Disease

Lessons Learned from a Dad Dealing with His Son’s Addiction

A Caron alumnus and his father have both gone all-in on fighting addiction. They have agreed to share their stories to all interested Caron families in our June 7th webinar. The son got sober at 18 and is now over 6 years in recovery and living a happy, empathetic and connected life. He spent a year as a research assistant at Caron working on a brain imaging study and now works in the treatment industry helping adolescent and young men in early recovery. The father spent a year at Harvard University taking graduate level addiction courses in psychopharmacology, neuroscience and public health and he works full-time as a volunteer at a national addiction nonprofit creating educational materials and tools for families. He is a co-creator of the Caron podcast series: “My Child & Addiction”. In addition, this father recently published a series of gritty and personal short stories which highlight the most important information, concepts and tools that helped him in his eight-year journey with his son – learn more www.addictionlessons.com.
