Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT) is a comprehensive approach to the delivery of early intervention and treatment services that can be used with students who are using substances. Upon completion of the training, participants will be able to:
- Select and utilize tobacco, alcohol, and drug use screening tools with students.
- Perform brief interventions for tobacco and substance use problems with students.
- Refer students to the appropriate type of substance abuse treatment center and/or specialist.
