Chemical dependency is a systemic disease that not only impacts teens, but also impacts their parents and the entire family system. Addiction enters their lives and leaves a path of destruction, confusion and pain. Feeling overwhelmed and afraid, parents often question what they should do next. This presentation focuses on how parents can live with addiction without becoming consumed by it. It will explain how to develop, communicate and hold healthy boundaries that support recovery. The presenters will also provide parents with tools to focus on their own self-care and build healthy coping skills.
