Caron's annual Philadelphia Gala brings together corporations, families, and friends in the community for our largest fundraising initiative in the region. Proceeds from this event help families from the Greater Philadelphia and Central New Jersey Regions who could otherwise not afford treatment.

Last year, Caron helped more than 500 families from the Greater Philadelphia and New Jersey Region awarding more than $2 Million in scholarship aid to families. Caron's Student Assistance program provides drug and alcohol education and prevention services to more than 61 Philadelphia area schools, reaching almost 11,000 students.

This fun-filled evening recognizes an individual and a corporation from the community who demonstrate the same spirit of caring and compassion that was exemplified by our late founder, Richard J. Caron.

This year's honorees include Casey Duffy, President of Delaware Valley Remediation, LLC and The Philadelphia Eagles.

Casey Duffy 2017 Richard J. Caron Award of Excellence Distinguished Honoree - Casey Duffy

Casey has been a dedicated member of Caron’s Board of Trustees since 2006 where he served on various committees most recently holding the position of Chairman of the Board from July 1, 2014 to June 30, 2017. During his tenure as Chairman, he helped Caron raise $30,792,765 of which $1,408,497 was from the Philadelphia Gala Fundraising events. As part of Caron’s Open the Door Campaign, he helped to raise $54 Million in commitments toward a goal of $70 Million.

Casey has spent the last twenty-five years in the demolition and remediation business and is the President and Managing Partner of Delaware Valley Remediation, LLC, a Philadelphia-based commercial and industrial demolition and abatement firm. He is also the founder of Sober Samaritan, a non-profit that raises funds for individuals to have access to treatment at Caron and was Pennsylvania’s delegate to serve at A&E’s (Arts & Entertainment Television Network) first Recovery Rally. He is an avid golfer and has life-long strong ties to the Philadelphia Eagles organization. Casey returns to Caron’s campus almost every month to share his personal story of strength, hope, and recovery with current patients.

As with anything Casey sets his mind to, he has been an extraordinary leader and has given much of his time and energy toward helping Caron and countless families from the Philadelphia Region who are suffering from the disease of addiction.

Casey received Caron’s Outstanding Alumni award in 2009, is a member of Caron’s Chit Chat Society which recognizes planned gifts to Caron, and has served as this Gala’s chair in 2011, 2012 and 2013.

Casey was born in Philadelphia and raised in West Chester, PA. He and his wife Christine, a 4th grade school teacher, live in Malvern with son Cotter and daughter Coeli; his daughter Mallory, one of our gala committee co-chairs, is a Training and Development Specialist for Urban Inc. She and her husband Jesse Schwab live in Philadelphia.

Philadelphia Eagles

Caron is proud to honor the Philadelphia Eagles with the 2017 Corporate Partner award for their extensive community outreach in the Greater Philadelphia region. Specifically of note, Eagles Charitable Foundation (ECF) is a 501(c)(3) organization that has served more than one million children in the region. Formally known as Eagles Youth Partnership, ECF focuses its efforts on providing comprehensive vision care – free eye exams and glasses – to children in our communities who need it most. ECF has recently expanded its outreach to the field of autism research, investing heavily in groundbreaking studies at some of the region’s leading medical institutions. Additionally, the Eagles Care program cultivates season-long strategic partnerships with local non-profits as a way to help strengthen their core work and increase their positive impact on the community. The Eagles believe there is no offseason to good citizenship. Caron Treatment Centers is pleased to recognize their commitment in the community by way of presenting the Philadelphia Eagles with the 2017 Caron Corporate Partner award.
