2015 marked a devastating milestone for Berks County

Information from the Berks County coroner's office showed that at least 75 people died from an overdose in the county in 2015.  The deaths occurred in 21 Berks County townships and boroughs, in addition to the City of Reading;  39% were women and 79% were white.  This isn’t a city vs. suburb problem. This problem isn’t limited by gender, age or ethnicity.

In response to the public health threat that addiction continues to pose to the Berks County community, local addiction experts and community leaders have formed Berks HOPE (Helping Others/Providing Expertise), a consortium dedicated to making addiction intervention, treatment and recovery resources more easily accessible to those who need them.  Caron is proud to be a leader in this initiative.  Learn more about Berks HOPE

Our roots run deep in Berks County.

In 1953, Richard Caron began helping addicts in his Wyomissing Hills home until they outgrew the space and opened Chit Chat Farms on South Mountain in Wernersville in 1956.   Chit Chat, also known as Magic Mountain by those who have experienced the miracle of healing and recovery, has continued to grow and is known today as Caron Treatment Centers.

We are committed to Berks County.
